ANumber of Games: Varies based on the number of teams in the league. Duration of Season: April through June including holiday weekends; generally weeknights and Sundays. Important Format of League: There are two Leagues, the National League and the American League. Players try out for the National League and must be at tryouts to be considered for drafting into the National League. Those players not chosen for the National League (or those who did not attend tryouts) will be placed in the American League. Each year all players must participate in a tryout in order to be eligible to be drafted by a National League team. Each year all players will re-enter the draft in both Leagues. Hitting: A full roster will be used. A player will take his/her turn at bat even if he/she is not playing a defensive position that inning. Bats must be “Babe Ruth” approved. Base Running / Run Scoring : Stealing and leading off is allowed. Runners must slide to avoid contact. Head first slides allowed only while returning to a base. Twelve run mercy rule enforced. Playing Time / Positions Played: All games are seven innings in length. Nine defensive positions are played. Every player must play a minimum of four innings each game. |
