SUMMER ALL STAR BASEBALL LEAGUE DESCRIPTIONS

Again this season FYBO will have a full slate of summer teams competing against a host of other towns throughout Eastern Massachusetts.  Last year FYBO provided over 200+ players the opportunity to play summer baseball.  With the addition of the Tondorf and Tri-Valley Tournaments, FYBO now supports 24 teams from the Single A Division through Babe Ruth.
Hockomock – The Hockomock League is where FYBO sends the top 12 players from our leagues ages 9-15.  These players are voted on by the coaches and the level of competition for these deserving players is very high.  Franklin has always fielded competitive teams and we hope this season is no different.  The 13-15 year old teams also play in the Babe Ruth tournament and the younger ages play a weekend tournament down in Mansfield.
Tondorf – The Tondorf Tournament was added in 2008 as the second level of All Stars for teams from the 9-12 year old levels.   This is for players who narrowly missed out on the Hock team but are still very good players.  This league is also very competitive and plays against the top level teams from towns such as Medway, Hopkinton, Holliston, Ashland and Bellingham.
Sizzler – These are teams that play out of Hopkinton.  We have 4 teams in their summer league that are combined with 9’s & 10’s and 11’s & 12’s.   One of those teams is a group of 11’s and 12’s representing the Triple A division.   Franklin has always faired very well in the league.
Tri-Valley – At the 13 through 15 year old level, the second level of competition that FYBO participates in is the Tri-Valley League which operates two separate divisions, a 13 year old division and a 14-15 year old division. The Tri-Valley League is comprised of 50 teams from 13 area towns.  The League includes Ashland, Bellingham, Blackstone, Dover-Sherborn, Franklin, Holliston, Hopedale, Medfield, Medway, Mendon/Upton, Millis, Sutton and Uxbridge.   2008 is FYBO’s first year in this league.

Good luck to all the players and coaches.  We look forward to these teams making our league proud.
